About us

What is a Theodore?

The Theodore is a breed in development, resulting from breeding Cavoodles. All of our breeding dogs and resulting puppies are all infused as foundation members, and pups come with Registration Certificates. This means that our pups are bred to the highest standard, our breeding stock is vet checked yearly, and we maintain the ethics of our breeding program in accordance with the MDBA. When outside studs are used, you can rest assured that we ensure that have undergone the same level of scrutiny and are DNA tested to match the genetics of our girls.

The Cavoodle

The Cavoodle is the result of breeding a Cavalier King Charles with a Poodle. The outcome of this pairing is an intelligent, loyal, low/non-shedding healthy pup that makes a great addition to any family. When Cavoodles are bred to Cavoodles, the varied genetics result in a wide varitey of pups, from the shedding cavalier type, to non -shedding poodle like pups. Genetic testing can give us insight into what we are breeding and can help to give us consistency in our pups. We make sure our pairings produce low/non-shedding pups.

Generations of the Cavoodle (Theodore)

F1 = Cavalier King Charles x Poodle

F1b = Cavoodle x Poodle (or less commonly a Cavalier)

F2 = F1xF1

F2b = F2 x Poodle (will only be recognised as an F1 by the MDBA)

F3 = F2xF2

F4 =F3xF3

Health Guarantee

We do everything in our power to make sure that we are breeding healthy pups. All of our parents/breeding girls and boys are DNA tested and the pups are guaranteed to not be affected by any testable diseases (through Orivet). Parents are vet checked yearly and teeth, patellas, spines, hearts and hips are all cleared.

The pups are vet checked between the 6-8 week mark and cleared, or any results are always disclosed to the buyer. We have a health check guarantee that is covered in our Puppy Contract. Puppies are microchipped and vaccinated during this visit as well as having a full nose to tail check including teeth, heart, hips, spine and patella.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, once you have picked your puppy after they have turned 2 weeks old we require a 10% deposit to hold the puppy. Because we only have 2-3 litters a year, we do not take deposits prior to puppies being born, and like to ensure the pups are thriving before allocation begins.

Do you sell interstate?

Yes we do. We will have our vet issue a fit to travel certificate, and the cost of travel is the responsibility of the buyer. We are happy to hold the pup for an extra week or two if needed before they travel. Pups can travel via air or road and we are happy to help organise this whole process.

Are you a registered breeder?

Yes. Our BIN number and links to RightPaw, RPBA and the MDBA are provided above. We have undergone the auditing process to be a member of RightPaw and RPBA (including an in-person vet audit of our property), and we abide by the code of ethics of each organisation.

Do you have a Priority List?

We keep a record of any interested families, and encourage them to apply through RightPaw to ensure we have all details on file, including the type of home the pup will be going to. We keep you up to date with pregnancies, due dates and the arrival of puppies, and from there we start to allocate puppies from the 2 week mark. Pups are allocated based on preferances and puppy personalities, and priority will be given to those who have been waiting the longest - it is so important that we get the right fit for both your family and the puppy!
